Founder · Engineer

I build intelligent systems that turn complex technology into real-world impact.

I’m Mihir—a founder and engineer focused on technology commercialization across AI, Web3, and wireless communication. I bring scientific problem-solving and technical standards into practical product and customer work. Alongside my Technical Account Manager / Application Engineer role at MathWorks, I build independent ventures.

Selected work

A closer look at the work

The common thread is translation: from electromagnetic models to usable tools, from fragmented data to accountable systems, and from ambitious product ideas to working infrastructure.

ReceiptCal dashboard showing calories and macronutrients from email receipts
LivePreventative health

ReceiptCal

Automatic nutrition tracking from supported email receipts, designed to reduce the manual overhead of calorie and macronutrient logging.

Problem
Nutrition logs fail when recording every meal becomes a second job.
Role
Founder and product engineer across the app, receipt pipeline, privacy model, and nutrition infrastructure.
Approach
A private receipt address, reviewable results, and conservative handling when nutrition cannot be resolved.

AI-assisted antenna design

Making computationally difficult RF optimization more accessible inside established engineering workflows.

Problem
High-fidelity antenna optimization is expensive and slow.
Role
Software engineer working across algorithms, APIs, and product experience.
Contribution
Worked on bringing surrogate-model optimization into MATLAB antenna-design workflows.

Open Media

A people-first social and messaging system designed around transparent feeds, canonical identities, and honest connector boundaries.

Problem
Communication is fragmented by provider while platforms expose very different capabilities.
Role
Product architect and engineer across cross-platform UX, identity, connectors, and privacy boundaries.
Status
Open-source private beta; core messaging is live while unavailable provider actions remain explicitly disabled.

About

An engineer who likes the whole problem.

My background spans software engineering, RF systems, engineering management, and early-stage products.

I have built engineering tools at MathWorks, translated complex technical work across teams and customers, and founded products in health, AI, and collaboration. I am most useful where a problem crosses boundaries—architecture and interface, model and workflow, technical feasibility and commercial value.

Outside work, I’m drawn to mountains, music, and the kind of long conversation that changes the shape of a problem.

  1. 2014–2018

    Engineering foundations

Electronics and telecommunication at Symbiosis, with hands-on work in antennas and assistive hardware.

  2. 2017–2022

    Engineering tools

From a MathWorks traineeship to software engineering, building applications for antenna and RF workflows.

  3. 2022–2024

    Technology and business

Engineering Management at USC, alongside entrepreneurial projects exploring customer needs and commercialization.

  4. 2024–present

    Customers and ventures

Technical Account Manager / Application Engineer at MathWorks, alongside independent product and founder work.
